    The Open RoadPrivate Practise
Unlike many driving schools, ProDrive Motoring School positively encourages private practise between lessons. Although we recognise that private practise is not always possible due to individuals circumstances, it is clearly proven that students who have the opportunity to practise between lessons pass their test quicker than those who do not

    Legal Requirements for Private Practise

    - Motor Insurance
In order to practise between lessons the student must first obtain insurance on the vehicle they will use. Insurance for learner drivers can be very expensive. ProDrive Motoring School strongly recommend taking out a short term policy so that the student can trial private practise and find out whether it works well for them without having to spent out on a full 12Months of insurance. ProDrive Motoring School are pleased to recommend Collingwood Learners who provide short term policies. This insurer provides policies tailored to the needs of ProDrive Motoring School learners. Please call the ProDrive Motoring School office on 01249 443502 to obtain a policy recommendation number.

    - L Plates
The car you drive must display L plates front and back. These must be removed when the learner is not driving which is why magnetic L plates are recommended. The ProDrive starter pack contains a set of magnetic L plates.

    - Accompanying Driver
The Learner must be accompanied by a qualified full license holder who has held their license for over 3 years and is over 21 years of age. To ensure the accompanying driver has not picked up bad habits that will be passed on to the learner, we recommend booking an accompanying driver refresher lesson. This is a lesson with both the learner and accompanying driver to ensure the accompanying driver is brought up to date with all the latest driving techniques.
